{"id":130,"date":"2016-04-08T22:56:46","date_gmt":"2016-04-08T21:56:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/makerpedagogy.org\/en\/?p=130"},"modified":"2020-02-25T14:29:02","modified_gmt":"2020-02-25T14:29:02","slug":"maker-pedagogy-aera-2016","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/makerpedagogy.org\/en\/en\/maker-pedagogy-aera-2016\/","title":{"rendered":"Maker Pedagogy at AERA 2016"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We were pleased to make our first public scholarly presentation about Maker Pedagogy at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aera.net\/EventsMeetings\/AnnualMeeting\/PreviousAnnualMeetings\/2016AnnualMeeting\/tabid\/16287\/Default.aspx\">AERA 2016 in Washington, DC<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>We presented in a session sponsored by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aera.net\/SIG109\/Self-StudyofTeacherEducationPractices\/tabid\/15029\/Default.aspx\">self-study of teacher education practices SIG <\/a>and are grateful to all who attended. An excerpt from our paper:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Although the maker movement has become a part of the popular technological zeitgeist in recent years, it remains under-researched. A significant part of understanding pedagogies of making, in our view, will be to describe and interpret how our own pedagogies of teacher education are challenged by a focus on making things with future teachers.
