Welcome to makerpedagogy.org, the online presence of the Maker Pedagogy Educational Research group (MPERG) founded and led by  Dr. Shawn Michael Bullock<\/a>, Reader in the History of Science, Technology and Education at the University of Cambridge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Simply put, our research group is concerned with the paucity of opportunities that children and students have to make things in school environments. Our work takes seriously the idea that adopting a pedagogy grounded in the opportunity to make things is worthwhile. We seek to explore, describe, analyse, and interpret just what the specific features of a maker pedagogy might be, and how maker pedagogy might be used to learn about and with technology, broadly defined. We use academic perspectives from the history and philosophy of science and technology, language education, and art history to support the development of our thinking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
